Meditation, Rounding & Vedic Knowledge
The program ~
-
Vedic Meditation is a simple eyes-closed technique, practiced twice a day for 20 minutes. The practitioner uses a personal mantra, a specific sound, which quiets the mind and settles the physiology. The meditator experiences inner wakefulness beyond thought while resting deeply. This profound rest allows deep-rooted stresses to dissolve naturally, bringing innumerable health benefits to the individual.
Vedic Meditation produces these benefits immediately and cumulatively. Most importantly, it makes you happier! It’s an effortless, divine technique that triggers an automatic rest sequence. You don’t need any special ability to focus or concentrate.
If you haven’t learned Vedic Meditation yet, I invite you to join us in Santa Fe and learn during the retreat. I can’t think of a better place and time to learn.

On our retreat we will learn the ancient technique of “rounding”. Rounding is an advanced technique which incorporates a simple yoga asana sequence (no yoga experience is necessary), breath-work (pranayama), and meditation, followed by integrative rest. Rounding is designed to deepen your meditation to facilitate stress release and the integration of BEING into your eyes-open waking state. It’s extremely restful, blissful, and triggers sharper perception and deep experiences of Unity.
Throughout the weekend we will incorporate the rounding technique into our meditation practice.
We begin every day with a short ritual and group meting to discuss experiences we’re having in the rounding and meditation routine. We round, rest, share meals together, and then gather for knowledge meetings and discussion in the evening, followed by “Sama Veda” listening before bed.
There will be opportunities to learn advanced techniques, have your Vedic Astrological chart read, and enjoy the luxurious pool and facilities on the property.

Besides our rounding program, we’ll meet daily as a group to discuss this year’s topic, ENLIGHTENMENT (and how to integrate it). What is enlightenment? How do we “get” it or at least move towards it? What steps do we need to take to experience the 3 stages of enlightenment? What are the mechanics and the laws of Nature that drive us towards higher states of consciousness? Can normal people move into this high state of consciousness or is it only reserved for old men with beards who sit in caves? We will answer all these questions and more. If enlightenment interested you, and its your heart’s desire to reach this (so-called) elusive state, then this retreat is for you.
The whole purpose of life is to gain enlightenment. Nothing else is significant compared to that completely natural, exalted state of consciousness. So always strive for that. Set our life around that goal. Don’t get caught up in small things, and then it will be yours. -Maharishi Mahesh Yogi
